In chasing down the bug documented in gtk-draco-980306-0.patch.README, I found the gtk_object_check_class_cast routine to be insufficiently robust, it was tossing me cores when it was just supposed to be warning me of trouble, so here the fix I developed for that. Please note that it requires my gtk-draco-980305-0.patch to have been installed prior (and also cleans up the code on that slightly).
